A Look Into Facebook Native Video Performance

In a recent study, quintly social media analytics took a look at the performance of Facebook native video uploads as compared to other video formats like YouTube or Vimeo. They analyzed a sample set of more than 1 million Facebook posts of their clients between July and November 2015. They looked at the share of posts, post engagement, and how many times a post was sponsored or promoted. Key points from this analysis include:

  1. 65% of Facebook video posts used Facebook native format
  2. Facebook native video saw 4 times the engagement of other formats
  3. Facebook and Vimeo tended to be promoted the most
